The IMSO National Parallel Contest was conceived to provide maximum opportunity to the country’s math/science-inclined Filipino students to broaden their math and science horizon and to experience a contest of international standard as they soar to the height of excellence.
The competition was national in form since the participants competed among themselves and their performance had no bearing to the results of the IMSO international group. It was international in substance and scope since the contest papers used were the same as those of the IMSO international group and some IMSO rules and regulations had been applied.
