More than two hundred Filipino students from various schools in the country have registered to participate in the HIPPO 2019 7th International English Language Competition which will be held in three rounds: the preliminary round which is already on Saturday, February 16, 2019, in selected MTG Center nationwide.

The semi-final round is set on March 30, 2019, and the final round will be in Lido Di Jesolo, Venezia, Italy on May 11 to 12, 2019.

The tests for the preliminary round of the Olympiad will consist of two parts: a test of reading comprehension (multiple choice questions) and a test of listening comprehension. The Little Hippo Reading test includes 6 questions that require one-word answers. The tests are the same for all the participants of a category.

The participants are reminded of the following things:

1. Be at the contest venue at 1PM for the registration.
2. Bring your school ID for identification, use only black or blue ballpen.
3. Dictionary and other electronic translators are not permitted.
4. Mobile phones and other personal electronic gadgets/devices are not allowed

The Philippine Board of Studies Foundation (PBOSF) Inc. has identified a close to 500 science wizards to join the 4-day Science Selection Training Camp in Tagaytay City on  April 1 – 4, 2019. 

The invited participants are awardees of the High Distinction (HD) and Distinction (D) certificates in the 2018 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) –Science. 

This year, the Philippines has been invited to send participants to join in the science category of the 2019 Asian Science and Math Olympiad (ASMO) which will be held in Malaysia and of the 2019 International  Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) for Primary Schools in Vietnam. 

From these trainees of the Science Training Camp, PBOSF will choose to represent the Philippines in the science division of both contests.

The interested trainees have until February 16, 2019 to send their confirmation of participation with the subject Header, “2019 Science Training Camp” at this email address,sciencecamp.2019@gmail.com.

After making the confirmation, the interested trainees will receive registration procedures for compliance to make their participation official, since the invitation is on ‘first come, first served’ basis.
