The widely participated English language competition in the Balkan states, Asia and Europe is back in the country!
The Philippine Board of Studies Foundation (PBOSF) Inc. will conduct the HIPPO 2019 7th International English Language Competition (English without Borders) for the second time in the Philippines. The Olympiad is open to students 6 – 19 years old from the whole world. Students wishing to participate will take the tests at the selected MTG centers or schools nationwide.
The participants will compete in 8 categories (6 regular and 2 special) based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages:

Special categories are aimed at students who are considered bilingual according to the Hippo Olympiad regulations (see above) as well as for the international schools and the schools where all subjects are taught in English (except for the countries where English is the only official language, e.g. UK). These students can compete in one of the following two categories:

This contest using the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), an international standard for describing language ability, promotes English language and challenges students around the globe to compete in English knowledge.
These are the following dates to remember:
Registration Starts : November 1, 2018 (Thursday)
Registration Deadline : February 3, 2019 (Sunday)
Preliminary Round : February 16, 2019 (Saturday)
Semi-Final Round : March 30, 2019 (Saturday)
Final Round : May 11 – 12, 2019 (Lido Di Jesolo – Venezia, Italy)
Note: Those students, who reached Hippo 2018 final round, cannot compete in the same category in Hippo 2019. The students of lower grades than the ones in the table can also compete if they feel prepared for the level.
Registration end date is 3rd February 2019. No applications will be accepted after this date.
