Grace Christian College reminds participants of HIPPO

Please be informed that the registration for the HIPPO “English without Borders” at Grace Christian College will start at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, February 24, 2018. The contest will start at 1:30PM.

No extra time will be given to the latecomers except to the official MTAP Sectoral Team Contestants who will be accommodated should they arrive after 1:30 P.M.

The room assignments will be as follows:

Hippo 1 – GCC HS Wing Ground Floor Room 132
Hippo 2 – GCC HS Wing Ground Floor Room 133
Hippo 3 – GCC HS Wing Ground Floor Room 134

Hippo 4 – GCC HS Wing Ground Floor Room 135

Please be guided accordingly.

Math wizards geared up for the 2nd round IMAS

About one hundred sixty-eight whiz kids from all over the Philippines will participate in the second round of the 7th International Mathematics and Assessments for Schools (IMAS) which will be held in selected schools and MTG training centers on Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 9:00 am. Registration starts at 8:00 AM.

The participants for the second round of IMAS are those who made it in the top 5% to 10 % of all the participants in every division of each country. Most of them are recipients of high distinction certificates and only a few recipients of distinction certificates but all have the chance to win gold, silver and bronze medals if their performance in the second round so guarantees.

The official participants must remember their student code which they will write down on the answer sheet on the sitting date.

The participants are reminded of the following things:

1. Be at the contest venue at 8 AM for the registration.

2. Bring your school ID for identification, pencil 2B or B (not pen) and an eraser.

3. Calculators and other electronic translators are not permitted.

4. Mobile phones and other personal electronic gadgets/devices are not allowed

More than 100 students selected to join the IMSO Science Camp

The Philippine Board of Studies Foundation (PBOSF) in coordination with Mathematics Trainers’ Guild (MTG), Philippines Inc. will conduct the 4-day International Mathematics and Science Olympiad (IMSO) Science Selection Training Camp in Angeles City on April 6 – 9, 2018.

The invited participants are current grades 3 and 4 awardees of the High Distinction (HD) and Distinction (D) certificates in the 2017 International Competitions and Assessments for Schools (ICAS) –Science.

From these trainees of this IMSO Science Training Camp, PBOSF and MTG will choose the best of the best to represent the Philippines in the 15th IMSO Science Category which will be held in ZHEJIANG, CHINA in November 2018.

The interested trainees have until February 26, 2018 to send their confirmation of participation at this email address: ventus_mico@yahoo.com with the subject header, “IMSO Science Training Camp” and for further inquiries, you may contact Mr. Ventus at +639266845287.

After making the confirmation, the interested trainees will receive registration procedures to be complied immediately in order to make their participation official, since the invitation is on ‘first come, first serve’ basis.

PH participants of HIPPO’s prelim round named

Close to five hundred students registered to participate in the HIPPO 2018 6th International English Language Competition which will be held in three rounds: the preliminary round which is already on Saturday, February 24, 2018, in selected MTG Center nationwide.

The semi-final round is set on March 17, 2018, and the final round will be in Lido Di Jesolo, Venezia, Italy on May 12 to 13, 2018.

The HIPPO 2018 6th International English Language Competition which is open to students from grades 5 to 12 and which uses the CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), an international standard for describing language ability, promotes English language and challenges students around the globe to compete in English knowledge.

The tests for the preliminary round of the competition will consist of two parts: a test of reading comprehension (multiple choice questions) and test of listening comprehension. After the preliminary round tests have been marked, the top 10% of participating students from each participating country will be invited to the semi-final round.

The participants are reminded of the following things:
1. Be at the contest venue at 1PM for the registration.
2. Bring your school ID for identification, pencil 2B or B (not pen) and an eraser.
3. Dictionary and other electronic translators are not permitted.
4. Mobile phones and other personal electronic gadgets/devices are not allowed
