Team Philippines bags 14 medals in the 8th Global Finals of “SPEAK!”

The Philippines bagged 14 medals in the recently concluded 8th Global Finals of “SPEAK!” International Competition, earning 9 medals in the English category and 5 medals in the Mandarin category.

Held at the Science Center, Singapore last July 28 – 29, 2018, SPEAK is a global English individual and team contest focusing on the following subjects in listening, composition writing, reading, and puzzle on proverbs, folk adage, riddles, brain teasers, arrangement rules, logical reasoning, graphical transformation, arithmetical operation, common knowledge of culture or life, comprehensive knowledge of subjects, etc.

In the English category, these young Filipinos exhibited their mastery and proficiency:

Meanwhile, in the Mandarin category, students from Zamboanga Chong Hua High School made a strong showing and garnered the following medals, Gold Medal: SHI, YUANYUAN, Silver Medal: CHUA, AUDREY JANELLE and Bronze Medal: TORRES, ANDREA, LIM, MARGAELLI VERNICE, and GO, LYNETTE

This year, there were close to 150 participants from Indonesia, Malaysia, China, Philippines, and Singapore.
